I Love Unique Hair Pieces

We recently have done several photo shoots for various blogs and magazines and one of my favorite accents to add in these shoots are unique hairpieces. These beautiful accessories can add glamour, flair and a touch of individuality to the bride. Plus, they are so fun (and lovely) to wear! Some of the designers we are particularly in love with are Twigs and Honey, Lo Boheme & Jennifer Behr.

Myra of Twigs and Honey just came out with her newest collection inspired from her recent trip to France. She also just launched her new online store! Love!

Lo Boheme is inspired by vintage details and the glamor of Old Hollywood.

Along beautiful headpieces Lo also designs really neat garters

These beautiful and delicate headbands from Jennifer Behr are made with Swarovski Crystals and is a great twist on a modernized tiara

Pacific Weddings Feature Wedding!

I was thrilled to have a recent Gainey Winery www.gaineyvineyard.com wedding featured in the most recent Summer/Fall 2010 issue of Pacific Weddings Magazine www.pacificweddings.com!   Pacific Weddings is in my opinion one of the most beautifully put together wedding magazines on the stands today.  The photos and layout are absolutely gorgeous!  And since I spend so much time on the island of Maui (my home away from home), I am particularly drawn to this magazine for it's Hawaiian influence.  However, in case you didn't know, they also feature destination weddings all over the world!  In fact, this particular issue is not only featuring my Santa Ynez, California winery wedding, but has an entire section on Wine Country Weddings and even a gorgeous Chianti, Italy wedding featured!  Pick up your copy today if you haven't already done so to see these weddings and more and for some beautiful inspiration and stunning photography!

I Love Joy Cup Co!

We recently received a box of delicious premium chocolate treats from Joy Cup Co. Locally produced on the Central Coast, we love that Joy Cup Co. uses homegrown olallieberries, blueberries, and lemon, and mixes them with creamy organic peanut butter and specialty sea salts to make the most scrumptious chocolate treats! All of the products are handmade using the finest gluten-free ingredients and the dark chocolate products are dairy-free. Everything is beautifully done from the patterns on the chocolate, to the ingredients, to the "L" is for love handmade hang tags by Lynn Bates Design, to the boxes they are delivered in!  These are a great idea for wedding favors. They offer a personalized stamp with the bride and groom's name and date in their wedding colors on the back of the tag and attach it with Raffia or Organza ribbon in the same color for no extra cost. And the best part is, they give you the stamp  as a gift when they are finished making your favors!

Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse Featured on Style Me Pretty!

Wine Country Wedding by Jill La Fleur

June 22nd. 2010 by Abby Larson | 6 comments
Jill La Fleur is one of those wedding planners that always lucks out with the coolest weddings ever. Probably because she’s a cool person herself so she naturally gravitates towards really cool brides. But more than likely it’s because she’s really good at what she does and manages to make every wedding look absolutely spectacular. Add in a designer like Mindy Rice and a backdrop as stunning as theFigueroa Mountain Farmhouse and it’s basically a recipe for perfection.

From La Fleur Weddings…This beautiful, intimate wedding was set in the hills above the Santa Ynez Wine Country, on the 200 year old Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse. The location and the wedding had the feeling of a country California theme.  The style elements of the wedding included antique pewter, burlap, lace, white antique and deep rose, old galvanized metal, bamboo, natural grasses and other various textures and details. The bride’s absolutely Stunning dress had beautiful lace details which tied in nicely with the lace wrapping on her bouquet and the lace overlays on the cream linens on the guest tables.  The flowers were very natural and included lilac, freesia, dusty miller, ferns, peonies, fresh sage, natural grasses and potted herbs.  Dariel’s bouquet had deep to light cream tones, while the Bridesmaids bouquets represented slightly brighter rose tones with accents of dusty miller & sage greens.  Sage green was also the color of the Bridesmaid’s dresses from Alfred Angelo. The Groomsmen had the option of wearing 3 different colored suits, with a black skinny tie-Loved that!
The ceremony, set a top a grassy hill, was full of beautiful details.  The simple chuppah was adorned with a soft cotton gauze fabric and simple delicate flowers, wheat and natural grasses, and was carried out by the groomsmen and bridesmaids. The poles were of natural stained wood and blended nicely with the rustic setting.  The Officiant was the Groom’s Godfather, and as the newlywed couple departed down the center aisle, friends and family threw congratulatory paper ribbon streamers!
After the ceremony, the guests followed a pathway of stringed lights that lead up to the reception area. The guests were then entertained on the house deck by cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a fantastic folk/bluegrass band complete with mandolinist!  The groom is a musician himself and he had a big part in the band selection, so you know they were great! The amazing food by Pure Joy Catering included passed appetizers of caramelized onion tarts & tomato, mesquite grilled shrimp with citrus mint dipping sauce, and ocean fresh ceviche, with guacamole dollop served in cosmopolitan glasses with chips. The sunset views and ambiance were incredible as you can see from BB Photography’s amazing photos.
